G901X Step Pulse Multiplier Datasheet

Thank you for purchasing the G901X step pulse multiplier. The G901X is covered under a manufacturer’s warranty for one year from the date of purchase. If you are not 100% satisfied with the G901X you may return it for a full refund, minus shipping charges, provided it is like new cosmetically and electrically.

To connect the G901X, follow the directions below:

REMOVING THE COVER

1.) Remove the two 2-56 phillips-head screws on the bottom of the drive.
2.) Gently lift the back of the cover upward until the LED clears the rectangular hole
3.) Slide the cover backwards while still lifting until it clears the drive.

REMOVING THE OPTOISOLATOR

1.) Locate the socketed HCPL2531 optoisolator located opposite the capacitor, near the 12 pin 5mm connector.
2.) Using needle nose pliers, pull straight up on the optoisolator to remove it from the sockets.

INSERTING THE G901X

1.) Orient the G901X so the 8 connection pins, located under the jumper block, are closest to the 12 pin 5mm connector on the drive.
2.) Line up the 8 connection pins with the 8 socket pins on the drive and push down firmly, careful not to bend any of the pins underneath the G901X.

SET THE DESIRED STEP PULSE MULTIPLIER JUMPER SETTINGS

1.) Using the diagram below, set the G901X jumpers to the appropriate setting for your application.

PLEASE NOTE: The four pins closest to the optoisolator are used as placeholders for extra jumpers; these do not connect to anything on the G901X or the drive it is plugging into. It is recommended to use small needle-nose pliers or tweezers to move the jumpers on the internal headers.

REPLACING THE COVER

1.) Make sure the LED is vertical relative to the drive printed circuit board.
2.) Slide the cover forward over the drive while lifting the back of the cover.
3.) When the cover is fully forward, look to see the LED is aligned with the hole.
4.) Gently press the cover down, making sure the LED moves into the hole.
5.) Replace the screws on the bottom of the drive.
