Geckodrive Motor Controls was founded in 1999 and has been known for our quality, reliability, support, and our little green gecko.
Our logo is on nearly every product we make, whether it is the small gecko imprint on the PCB, the gecko laser engraved on our stepper and servo drive covers, or the green gecko you see stamped on our packaging when you receive your order.
People love our little green gecko and even proudly display our stickers on their machines letting you know there are ‘geckos inside’.
It is our most recognizable brand mark, and it all started in the birthplace of Geckodrive, Hawaii.
While thinking of a way to differentiate ourselves from other companies and have a memorable name, we heard the telltale clicks coming from the house geckos that are everywhere in Hawaii. Known as a symbol of good luck, those Hanalei geckos were the inspiration for our brand: small, fast, and lucky.
The green gecko we use today in our logo was actually drawn from a gecko we caught on the island of Kauai. (Don’t worry, he was released after his 'modeling' gig!)
Geckodrive is based in California now, but our logo reminds us of our family in Hawaii and the good luck that those geckos brought to us as a young business. We hope that wherever you see our logo it brings good fortune to you, your business, and your family.
